Pain is all relative. What may be painful for someone can feel fine for someone else. We are in the business of helping find a solution to your everyday pain through our therapies and sometimes it can be uncomfortable, but in the end you will start to live pain free. Your therapist is amazing at a lot of things, mind reading is not one of them. If you are experiencing too much pain during your session, tell your therapist to go lighter.

This goes beyond a standard massage. At Extreme Bodyworx, we are dedicated to finding a solution for you and your specific needs. We are not a one size fits all kind of therapy. We want to help you reduce and eliminate your pain whether you have acute pain or chronic pain. But, you have to remember that the longer you have been dealing with your pain the longer it can take to retrain your brain and body to be pain free.
This will be decided between you and your therapist. Our overall goal is to get you on a schedule of just maintaining. Depending on the severity of your dysfunction you might start out needing to be seen once a week or once every two weeks. Once you and your therapist feel like you are physically in a good place the number of sessions you need will be reduced.
This is called an emotional response or emotional release. This can happen for a number of reasons or in different ways. Often times we will work a part of the body that has experienced trauma and you've been dealing with pain in that area for years. When we hit that spot and relieve the pain it can cause an automatic release of emotions. For some people, that might come in the form of crying and for others they might have a fit of laughter. If this happens to you there is no need to apologize or be embarrassed, it is the bodies way of dealing with the change. Your therapist has probably experienced this for themselves and they will be professional and help you through it.
